Getting Started with Phanterra
History
The topics which can be covered can include periods of historical significance, places of conflict or where continual important events occur, major civilizations or communities that had an impact on Phanterra, military conflicts, biographic accounts of significant people, momentous social and cultural trends, or myths and legends. Each of these approaches history in a different perspective that can greatly increase the perspective of old and future players as well as provide a large pool of ideas for character backgrounds, current events, and possible plots.
Time
Geography
Natural Science
The lore submitted can fall into one of three categories.
[Written]
The first is lore that is found written down (like the Core Rule book or a Research Form), on the internet (like a forum or posted document), or in other media. Only information that can be referenced should be included in this category.
[Verbal]
The second category is lore that has been received through verbal means. This is information that has been given to players through conversation, role-play, or other means with no physical record. If possible, please include the source, event, or time that the information was acquired, even if it is just 'some random NPC'.
[Suggested]
The third is user created lore. This is information and ideas created for Final Haven by the players and not introduced through 'official' means. (i.e. a GM or NPC)
Any material that is not a submission such as questions or concerns should be posted in this topic.
Phanterran history covers a great chasm of time, just touching on the bits and pieces that we find relevant to us at any particular point. Anything within the Phanterran history is relative to this section, but focus on the ‘bigger picture’ historical events would be best. Information pertaining to a particular culture or race should be located in their respective forums.History is an account, mostly false, of events, mostly unimportant, which are brought about by rulers, mostly knaves, and soldiers, mostly fools.

Time
In Phanterra, time has been affected time and again by magic, most significantly during the Cataclysms. The drastic changes in time have been felt by all races and cultures. This has had the unfortunate, or fortunate, effect of allowing for multiple timelines, alternate dimensions, parallel universes, differing speeds of time, prophecies, oracles, multiverses, augury, temporal distortions and much more.People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... timey wimey... stuff.
~The Doctor
Geography
For the purpose of this project, geography represents the lands, features, and phenomena of Phanterra. Areas to be covered can include minerals, volcanoes, earthquakes, and other earthly features; weather, climate, and other air-born phenomena; oceans, lakes, and other marine-based ideas; places and regions; cartography and navigational ideals; or stars and planets overhead. Any subject submitted for this category should be unique to Phanterra or add something of significance to the world.Geography is just physics slowed down, with a couple of trees stuck in it.
~Terry Pratchett, The Last Continent
Natural Science
Natural science covers any topic that occurs in the 'natural' world of Phanterra, specifically anything with life or that lives. In this particular instance, the absence of life, or the undead is also significant in this category. Also, in this world, magic exists and therefore should be thought of as natural. Subjects include characteristics, classification, and behaviors of organisms; forests, fruits and vegetables, flowers and other flora; birds, beasts, fish, insects, magical creatures, and other fauna; diseases, maladies, and plagues; alchemies, salves, and other 'natural' medicines; farming, cultivating, and other agricultural pursuits; magic (essence) and the effects it has had on anything in this category.Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.
